What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a new type of soft tissue injectable that induces the repair of skin tissue layers through the process known as bioremodeling. Profhilo is a pure hyaluronic acid-based product that is formulated with no chemical cross-linking agents. Hence, each syringe of Profhilo contains 64 mg of natural, BBDE-free hyaluronic acid for improved skin health and appearance.
How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo is an anti-aging HA dermal filler that targets the source of aging to allow the remodeling of skin tissue layers. The activity of Profhilo reaches different skin cell types to generate skin renewal processes.
Profhilo induces collagen and elastin production by modulating the activity of fibroblast cells. It also activates keratinocytes in the skin to further boost collagen synthesis.
In the molecular level, Profhilo upregulates the activity of adipogenic genes and their associated proteins to promote stem cell differentiation. These events then lead to enhanced fat tissue renewal which preserves and stimulates viability of the adipocytes, hence improving the quality of the adipose tissue layer of the skin.
Stimulates the fibroblast cells, thereby increasing collagen and elastin production.
Activates the keratinocytes to increase the synthesis of collagen and elastin.
Preserves and encourages the viability of adipocytes that affect the quality of adipose tissue.
The benefits of Profhilo
Acne scar treatment
The mechanism of action of Profhilo is ideal for dermal tissue repair, such as in cases of acne scars. Acne is a common dermatological complaint that could result to permanent scars. The pathogenesis of acne scarring involves the enzymatic destruction of collagen threads and the adipose layer of the skin.
Profhilo can target the dermal and subdermal components of acne scars to stimulate bioremodeling. The high concentration of hyaluronic acid in each dose of Profhilo enables quick activation of wound healing and tissue renewal. Profhilo stimulates the activity of fibroblast cells and keratinocytes to increase collagen synthesis, resulting to improved wound healing processes.
Volumizing effect of Profhilo
Another advantage of using Profhilo in treating acne scar is its hydrating effect while volumizing the tissue layer, hence preventing mechanical damage to skin cells. Profhilo fills in the scar deficit to the level of the normal skin for a smooth skin texture.
The unique composition of Profhilo is optimized to dispense high concentrations of hyaluronic acid with each injection. Compared to other dermal filler types, Profhilo requires fewer injections and fewer treatment sessions. Fewer injections mean less pain and discomfort for the patient. Each procedure only takes about 15 minutes or less, hence there is less downtime. Improved scar appearance can already be observed after a month.
Overall benefits of Profhilo
Profhilo treats skin aging, sagging, and scarring through facial bioremodeling. It hydrates, volumizes, and evens out skin contour. Composed of high concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid, Profhilo allows immediate skin healing and renewal while requiring fewer injection sites, less treatment sessions, and less downtime.

Profhilo is backed up by clinical researches and in vitro studies
A 2ml of Profhilo filler treatment is $1000 (before GST). This should be sufficient for full face acne scars treatment. You can expect visible differences after just one session.
The treatment will give a temporary and partial filling to the acne scars while concurrently healing them. Hence the scar appearance will reduce after the treatment while lasting recovery requires more sessions.
There is minimal down time and most patients look quite normal by the next day.
1 session will see visible differences. Results vary with patients depending on the severity of the scars. Our doctor recommends 3 sessions over a 1 year period for best results.
