Overview

Defined Facial Features Without Surgery

Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, has traditionally been the go-to solution for nose augmentation. However, patients are usually hesitant about going under the knife. This is understandable, as invasive surgery can be traumatic.

Rhinoplasty usually involves the use of general anesthesia, deep incisions, risk of scarring and harvesting cartilage from the ribs or ears. Those are not pleasant experiences, and the outcome may not be worth the price. This has led to a demand for non-invasive nose augmentation treatments that can deliver similar results.

That’s exactly what the Hiko Nose Threadlift can do. It is a non-surgical procedure originating from Korea, and is known as a “lunch time nose job” due to its convenience and speed of treatment.

The threads used to prop up the nose are made up of polydioxanone (PDO), and are 100% bio-compatible with the human body. Even after they dissolve, these ultra-fine threads induce the body to create new tissue fibroblasts and collagen, leading to a perkier and sharper nose.

How It Works

The Hiko Nose Threadlift enhances and lifts the nose bridge and nose tip by 2 synergistic mechanisms:

1)  Mechanical Lift – A small needle is used to create an entry point for the threads, which will be inserted into the nose bridge or tip via a blunt cannula to create a mechanical lifting effect.

This provides additional structure leading to more height and definition, resulting in a more defined nose.

2)  Biochemical Lift – The PDO nose threads used in this procedure are 100% bio-compatible with the human body. After they dissolve 6-8 months post-treatment, they induce the body’s own natural collagen production along the path of the thread fibers, resulting in a gradual improvement of the nose shape and contour.

Even when the mechanical lifting effect is not present, the biochemical lifting effect will still be ongoing. This prolongs the results of the treatment, and patients can expect a visible nose lift that lasts up to 12 months.

Who Is Suitable For Hiko Nose Threadlift Treatment?

This treatment can improve the appearance of the following nose types:

What Results Can You Expect?
  • Higher and longer nose bridge
  • Sharper, slimmer and straighter nose bridge
  • Sharper and slimmer nose tip
  • Improved nose tip rotation
  • Natural, slimmer and elegant nose appearance
What You Will Experience After Treatment

There may be some bruising, swelling and discomfort. This is normal and will subside in less than a week. There are no long-term side effects. No downtime is involved, and normal activities can be resumed immediately.

Most patients see immediate results after just 1 treatment. The PDO threads used during treatment will dissolve after 6-12 months. However, due to the biochemical lifting effect, the nose can stay lifted for around 12 months. Follow up treatments can be done to prolong results.

Hiko Nose Threadlift Or Nose Fillers?

Nose fillers are another non-surgical procedure for nose augmentation. Patients seeking to improve nose appearance without surgery are often unsure of which option to choose.

Compared to nose fillers, the Hiko Nose Threadlift delivers better visible results, as it lifts up the nose bridge more prominently, while improving nose tip projection and rotation.

It is also safer as it does not cause problems with migration, skin necrosis, spreading or arterial occlusion, which are some risks associated with nose fillers.

Results can last longer due to the biomechanical lifting effect, in which the dissolved PDO nose threads induce collagen production for continued improvement of the nose appearance.

However in some cases, combining the Hiko Nose Threadift and nose filler can produce even better results than just using one procedure. A consultation with a doctor will determine a patient’s optimal treatment plan.

FAQ

Anyone who wants to have a better nose profile, and have not done nose surgery or permanent fillers are suitable.

A numbing cream will be applied to the nose, and a local anesthetic will be injected. There may be a little pressure and tugging, but most patients find it comfortable and tolerable. During treatment, patients won’t feel pain due to the anesthetic.
